"Food of the Gods" is a great way to describe this San Francisco Greek Food Restaurant gem located in the financial district. The smell of lamb, pig and chicken on the open fireplace spit in the center of the restaurant immediately soothes your senses as you enter this elegant eatery.
Each day heavenly dishes are created from the open fire meats that are cooked fresh every day. These decadent dishes are always great to order as the smell of the barbeque enhances your taste buds and creates a feeling of "I love this place."
Lunch is served daily with unique specials for $15.00 such as Souvlaki Hirino, wood fired roasted pork gyro with lemon and oregano potatoes. I had the traditional Moussaka with spiced lamb, eggplant, potato and yogurt bechamel. It was perfectly seasoned and a large proportion to satisfy any appetite.
Linda’s favorite is the Avgolemeno which is a Chicken and Lemon Rice Soup. She has the recipe so if anyone wants it be sure to ask her! They sell a wonderful cookbook at the restaurant with all their recipes. If you like to cook you will find this extraordinary.
An extensive wine and desert list will make for a complete foodie experience. Turkish coffee and the chocolate fudge Sunday is a great ending to your meal and can be shared by 4 or more.
