One Market Restaurant-Michelin Star Dining and $2.00 Lunch Martini's

Since 1993 One Market has been serving San Francisco food lovers sophisticated dishes in an elegant setting overlooking the Bay.  Chef Mark Dommen and General Manager Larry Bouchard's commitment to excellence has made this restaurant a multiple Michelin Star winner and favorite in the "City By The Bay" for many years.

Lunch is served daily and reservations are recommended as this is a power lunch kind of place with lots of  Bay area business people enjoying the atmosphere and culinary delights.
It is fun to watch the talented chefs create heavenly food in the open kitchen. Chef Dommen also offers a special  a 6 course chefs table with views the Bay and seating for 7 that is a unique foodie experience. From Monday thru Thursday it is $85.00 and on weekend $95.00.

This a great way to entertain friends and business people for any occasion who want a memorable food experience.  We were so impressed  that we made reservations to return for the tasting dinner.

Many unique specialty cocktails, wines and beers are offered, but The One Market $2.00 Sterling Cooper Martini served with either Stoli Vodka or Hendricks Gin is a no brainer and very popular. A "Business Lunch" that changes daily is also offered for $22.50 that includes a starter main course and "Singular Sensation" desert for $4.00.

For appetizers, we started out with the Lightly Smoked Tasmanian Ocean Trout "Mi Cuit" with potato rosti, pancetta vinaigrette, and pastured chicken egg that was prepared perfectly and went well with the "One Market Martinis." We also tried the thinly sliced lamb tongue with lambs lettuce, Asian pear and puffed quinoa and hand-picked Dungeness crab cakes that were  works of art and very tasty.

For the entree, Linda had the sandwich of the day that was smoked ham and came with lightly basted onion rings that was enough for 2 people to share. I ordered the fall squash risotto with duck ham, pumpkin seeds, mascarpone and sage that was divine.

There are also many sugar delights to complete your meal with the "Simple Sensations" dessert menu. For the month of November, a gingerbread cookie was offered for $10.00 with all proceeds going to the Make A Wish Foundation. It was very fun as they also included icing and various toppings for you to prepare to your liking at table side.

Our server Steven was very knowledgeable and very helpful in making our food selections.  We appreciated his recommendations and great service.

From the web site, "In 1993, One Market Restaurant’s debut was one of the most eagerly anticipated events in San Francisco. Since then, One Market has become the standard for sophisticated dining in the city. The current incarnation features the Michelin Star winning farm-to-table food of Chef Mark Dommen, who ably follows in the footsteps of One Market’s celebrated founding chef and principal, Bradley Ogden. The restaurant features an open exhibition kitchen with a special "Chef's Table," a wood-fired grill, private dining rooms, and a luxurious bar. Add a top-notch staff and there's little wonder why One Market has been a preferred destination for dining from the opening day."
