Palmaz Vineyards- Wine Perfection💝

Palmaz Vineyards Brasas Society- A Wine Club to enjoy wine in genuine Argentine style

The invitation to this great event read,

"Join the Palmaz Family for a Grand Estancia-Style Asado in the Vineyards”.
In the great Estancias of Argentina a whole cow is roasted for special events and large celebratory dinners. We are celebrating the launch of our new wine club Brasas. We will be pouring all of our wines as well as some library selections each paired with Argentine cuisine. But the feature of the night will be the whole cow; it is an awesome sight to behold. Come and join us for the fire, food and of course great wine.

Afterwards, Patrick Davis, Django Walker, and Eric Paslay from Nashville will perform an acoustic concert featuring the songs they have written for many of the great county western and pop artists of today."

The party began with some of Amalia Palmaz's delicious appetizers served on the veranda complimented with their famous white and red wines. The outstanding view at sunset and smell of the barbeque made for a heavenly experience for the lucky wine club members.

The new leather wine label was also introduced to the wine members. This "special" addition is another unique touch of Palmaz class.

Dinner was served outside highlighted with an elegantly decorated table by candlelight and flowers on a pristine and warm Napa evening.

After dinner, the Nashville singers rocked the intimate crowd and the top of the line 2008 Gaston Cabernet, which was our favorite wine, flowed freely leading to lots of singing and dancing. Sweets were also served as the wine members relaxed on comfortable couches and listened to the soothing Nashville singers surrounded by Dr. Palmaz's impressive collection of vintage race cars.

The next event will be in February celebrating Valentine’s Day. Mark your calendars for that event and the 2013 cruise to Rio, Argentina and the family home in Uruguay.

This winery is 600 acres of pure beauty and has exquisite private tastings by appointment only with one of the warm, passionate and friendly family members. To arrange a tasting or for more information on future events go to:

From the web site,

"Julio Palmaz was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1945.
His childhood fascination with mechanical toys and homemade gadgets eventually led him to his current place in the Inventors Hall of Fame as the inventor of the Palmaz Coronary Stent. Dr. Palmaz attended medical school in Argentina and completed his residency at UC Davis, where his passion for wine began. "I had wanted to make my own wines since my days at UC Davis. And where better to make the best wine in the world than Napa Valley?"
Ever interested in mechanics and engineering, Dr. Palmaz played an integral role in designing Palmaz Vineyards’ elaborate gravity flow winery. Gravity is the oldest and gentlest way to move wine. It avoids disruption of the delicate molecules, preserving the wine’s complexity and structure."
Dr. Palmaz lives in Napa with his family and maintains an impressive collection of vintage race cars. He is an avid tennis player and enjoys cycling.

Palmaz Vineyards' winemaking and aging takes place within the living rock of Mount George, in a flawlessly engineered maze of tunnels and lofty domes. The height of the wine cave is equivalent to an 18-storey building, providing the vertical range needed for true gravity-flow winemaking. Thus, the wine is never subjected to the violent agitation of pumping, which can change the wine’s intra-molecular structure. This gentle treatment allows the finest nuances of flavor to develop naturally—the result is a complex, elegant wine.
·         The fermentation dome is the world’s largest underground reinforced structure. It is 72’ in diameter and 54’ high.
·         Temperature stays constant at 60 degrees and humidity at 75%, the perfect atmosphere for aging wine.
·         The cave houses its own water treatment plant built to comply with strict conservation guidelines.
Fermentation tanks rotate on a custom-designed carousel.
