Authentic Thai Cuisine
Osha at lunch time is a busy place with patrons waiting in line to get a table either inside the elegant decorated restaurant or outside on the patio with a view of the Ferry building and Oakland Bay Bridge. They do not take reservations for less than 6 people so get there at 11:30am when it opens for lunch because it fills up very fast.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable as the menu has many interesting dishes to satisfy your palate. Most of the entrees are between 8 and 13 dollars.
There is also a variety of wines to choose from and I selected a glass of pinot grigio from Australia that was very good.
Linda chose the Larb Lettuce Wrap which is minced chicken, red and green onion, cilantro, mint, toasted rice vinaigrette served over butter lettuce. It was light and a very hearty portion.
I ordered the hot and sour soup with shrimp and noodles and Long Beach Prawns. You could get shrimp chicken or beef in the soup but our server recommended the shrimp. It was a great addition and perfectly seasoned.
The Long Beach Prawns were large crispy coated tiger prawns served with onion, peanut carrot and iceberg slaw. It was an elaborate presentation and the prawns were very good and more than enough to eat.
The desert menu had some interesting treats and teas. We decided to share the key lime cheesecake which made for a great ending to a very flavorful lunch.
